  1. I’m like you, I feel a wonky feeling in my head and crave salt. It also
allows me to eat sufficient calories. if I don’t season my food I would
barely be able to meet my daily calorie intake and eat nothing lol.

  2. This is extremely important because I am at a very vulnerable state right
now and I desprately need answers. I’m suffering from candida and I am
already vegan, but it started almost a year ago after I had been vegan for
quite some time. How can I get rid of this on a vegan diet without
limitations of fruits and startches? I’m currently working on food
combining but I don’t know if it’ll beat my overgrowth.

    1. +Abby Lowe I was diagnosed months ago and I’ve stayed away from gluten, but
things haven’t improved. So, I did more research, I came across candida and
it all made sense. Like I said, it matched up to my story as well.
I have spoken to the doctor and he keeps making excuses not to look into it
any further. On that note, I’ve given up on going to the doctor. I’m going
to go see a dietitian, but that is all.

    2. +Tracy OConnell Probiotics didn’t do anything for me. My candida, or
whatever is wrong, is so bad that probiotics won’t aid it at all.

    3. +Cassandra McCarthy you do know your doctor is employed by you, right? If
they don’t want to do further testing for you, fire them. Go see another
doctor that will help. I did that when I was having problems. Second
opinions are an option. You shouldn’t just self diagnose. Diseases that
share the same symptoms as candida over growth include lyme disease,
fibromylagia, diabetes, et c. If you haven’t had any yeast or fungal
infections sprouting, you probably don’t have a bad case. If you’ve just
jad bouts of horrid gastro problems, you might want to get checked for
      crohns.

  3. Haha, salty blob of flesh. But seriously though, I feel like I go crazy on
salt a little. But that’s compared to other vegans, because my family and
friends think I don’t salt my food enough.

  4. I knew I needed a new doctor when he told me I need to take my medicine
because diet doesn’t affect my blood pressure only exercise does lol

  5. this is interesting, I kept going back and forth. I feel horrible on no
sodium diets. I need a little bit. when I was a kid I would eat salt
straight. while eating straight salt, I still had insanely low blood
pressure (80/40) I now reduce the salt but I knoe i need to have it. but
“science” in the vegan world has always seemed against it so I always felt
    confused. this perspective is refreshing.

    1. +Legit Nutrition Hawaii I’m so glad you did this topic, it kinda cleared
      some things up!
I have a question about caloric intake though, could you please answer?:
how do I get in more calories?
I feel like I’m unintentionally calorie restricting because of the low
calorie plant foods and I eat until I’m full…but I have horrible mood
swings and I am tired, I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism 🙁

    2. +Yoana Tsaneva Smoothies help me get in more food in the mornings. How are
you sleeping?? That and low hydration can really mess up your energy
      levels, too…

    3. +Legit Nutrition Hawaiit Thank you for the reply!
I’m sleeping alright, 8-9 hours, I just don’t have anyone in real life who
can help, so I’m pretty disheartened, because I’m not losing the little
weight I have on, I’m pretty bloated(I’m not eating too much salt, I drink
water) and I’m taking levothyroxine for hypothyroidism which I was
diagnosed a few days ago, I don’t know what to do anymore, I eat whole
      foods until satiation

    4. +Yoana Tsaneva Maybe you should look into getting a holistic certified
nutrionist. I’d recommend Julie from perfectlyplantbased here on YouTube.
She focuses on healing and really knows what she’s talking about. It might
be pricey but if you have no one else becoming a client of hers might be
      your answer.

    5. Lol my daughter is almost 7 and her favorite snack is tomatoes and salt and
she always wants to steal salt lol

  6. My great grandmother always douses all of her food in salt and she’s like
80, the human body is so unpredictable!

  7. As a vegan, I REALLY rely on salt too. I can go without sweets easily but I
need salty, savoury foods. <3 Salt is good for your metabolism. You need it
    in small amounts.

  8. So that’s why I’ve been so spaced out lately!!!!!! Going to incorporate a
bit of salt into my diet. Thanks lily! Great video! More vlogs plz :)

  9. I tried to be salt free and I felt so orthorexic. I would NOT eat because I
craved salt so much. I would stuff myself with raw foods and feel so
bloated. I watched Hannah’s video and was really motivated, so I stopped
all added salt and today I binged on some vegan udon with salt in it noooo.
But I also do heavy weights and cardio and I have really low blood pressure
that needs to be checked. So thank you for this video. I plan to stay low
sodium still, but I definitely go my feel now. Thank you!!!

  10. I only add salt to home made fries. I always have been used to fruit, veg
and coocked potatoes with no or a small amount of salt on it.
But I have got a feeling I need that bit of salt as my bloodpressure being
in the lower side and Sometimes is gets black before my eyes when I go and
    stand up.

Also: 2.3 grams of salt in the sad? that is so little. I think It’s 23
grams. because I have seen research that says: 3-6 grams is a healthy
amount of salt to Take in a day

  11. Love this video as always lily!!! Do you have any hair care videos? Thanks!
    From @virtually_vegan on instagram xxx

  12. hi lily! I want to start eating whole foods (I’m already vegan) and I
wanted to know if bread, like bagels etc, is unprocessed? thank you!

    1. Those are processed foods… Unless it’s literally a whole wheat berry, it
is processed. However, if these foods mean a lot to you, eating them a few
times a week isn’t going to destroy you 😉

    2. It is processed – but you don’t have to live exclusively on unprocessed
foods, unless you really want to… A few of my dinners every week are
usually from pasta, rice cakes, or bread

    1. because he has a tinkly jingle jangle collar and he was chasing a fly
around the room making tons of noise. As you can see, Petunia on the other
hand was stoically (and silently) edging her way closer to my starfruit
      bowl…
